I’m a huge champion for tackling VAWG and a safer online world for all so I’m very excited to begin looking into this with the rest of the committee. Social media platforms should not become a vehicle for individuals to perpetuate violence

Today in Parliament, I’m wearing a pink and blue-ribbon badge to mark Baby Loss Awareness week 🩷💙

This week is about 3 things: raising awareness, remembrance, and driving change. No one who has lost a baby should ever feel alone or isolated from support.

You may have noticed that Hotel La Tour was lit up pink and blue to mark this week – a beautiful way to raise awareness.

I want anyone in MK who is finding this week difficult to know that they are not alone, our community in this city is here for you and we see you.

Fireworks are something we see very often from New Year to various other celebrations, their bright colours tend to signify happiness and joy. On a dark night, distant fireworks can be truly beautiful.

However, I also understand that fireworks can cause considerable distress for people and animals alike and if not used safely can be a huge danger. That’s why it is so important that the government consults on issues such as these so that everyone can have a voice

Little bit of a fan girl moment at the City of Codes and Lights meeting the fantastic Maureen Onwunali

Cyber resilience is incredibly important especially when we consider the threat of foreign actors who want to attack our democracy

It was really lovely to be at the fantastic Unity Place to discuss the future of cyber resilience and the role that government and industry have to play in making sure we’re ready for the future 👩‍💻

We’re a tech forward city, in fact 1 in 3 jobs in Milton Keynes are in tech and that is something we should be so proud of 🏙️

Finding time for donating to Willen Hospice is something I really try my best to do 💙

It was lovely to briefly pop into one of their many stores to donate some items – they’re truly a one stop shop for clothes, furniture, decor, shoes and accessories 🛍️

+ it is Second Hand September at the moment so next time when you’re looking for something new, see if you can pick up a second-hand version and give it a new lease of life

Last Friday, I met with Tony from the 5 Dimensions Trust 📚

The 5 Dimensions Trust look after a group of our fantastic secondary schools and primary schools in the city including: Brooklands Academy, Merebrook Infant School, Emerson Valley School, Priory Rise School, Shenley Brook End School, The Hazeley Academy and Walton High. ⭐️

It is always fantastic to hear about the work that the trust is doing to deliver for the students and schools that it looks after. I particularly enjoyed hearing about the 5D Baccalaureate which gives students a clear and ambitious goal to work towards. 👩‍🏫
