It was great to discuss the change that women can enact in our local community at a grassroots and city level – it is clear that women are changemakers in Milton Keynes.
It was also wonderful to see so many charities and organisations present!
As Vice Chair of the Loan Charge APPG, I want to see justice brought to these victims and I was glad to bring this up again in the Chamber yesterday.
I’m grateful for the decision made at the budget to write off £5,000 of the liabilities of those affected by the loan charge scandal – but there is more to be done.
A huge congratulations to the schools that made it to the next round: Oakgrove, Denbigh, Watling Academy and Radcliffe (TIE), Hazeley, Walton High (Walnut Tree), Glebe Farm and Shenley Brook End.
We certainly saw the strength of debating skills here in MK and the incredible knowledge of our young people on important political issues. A huge thank you to all the students and staff who have taken part so far!

For some their lives returned to normal when the pandemic ended, but for many others their grief lived on. As a city we should do everything we can to support those who lost loved ones, and I’m glad our community came together to show strength and kindness.
