️In the wake of the recent For Women Scotland Supreme Court ruling, I’ve heard from many constituents who are deeply concerned about what it means for the trans community.
Let me be clear: Milton Keynes is a city we are building on the values of dignity, decency, and the right to live authentically—without fear, without prejudice, and without barriers. Being secure in who you are is not a privilege. It is a right.
The ruling confirmed that trans rights remain protected under the Equality Act – legislation passed by the last Labour government. But it also raised important and unresolved questions. Those must be answered in a way that safeguards all our communities.
I will always stand up for my transgender constituents. I will always fight for compassion, inclusion, and equality – because that’s the Milton Keynes I’m proud to represent.
Recognising each other’s humanity costs nothing—but it means everything. I know that many of my constituents are deeply concerned about this judgement, but I hope I can reassure you that I will always be an unshakeably ally to the transgender community.️️️
