Emily was born at St Thomas’ Hospital in London and raised in Quebec, Canada, where she graduated from Concordia University in 1996 with a BA in Political Science.
Before entering Parliament, Emily made a significant impact in local government. Elected to Milton Keynes City Council in 2018, she represented Bletchley East and went on to serve as Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Adults, Housing, and Healthy Communities. In that role, she led transformative estate regeneration projects, championed improved end-of-life care, and played a key role in making Milton Keynes a White Ribbon City – standing up to male violence against women and girls. She also spent time volunteering and serving on the board of a Kenyan charity focused on tackling poverty – deepening her passion for social justice and global equity.
Now as the MP for Milton Keynes Central, Emily brings that same drive to Westminster. She continues to fight for safer communities, affordable housing, and stronger public health services. Whether on the council or in Parliament, Emily has always focused on the issues that matter most to people’s everyday lives – standing up for those too often overlooked and working to build a fairer future for all.
