I’m delighted to share that on 22nd of July 2025, I welcomed the announcement that Willen Hospice in Milton Keynes Central has been awarded a grant of £431,061 from the Labour government’s £75 million investment programme for improving end‑of‑life care.
This follows a previous award of £143,687 in February from the £25 million initial funding pot – meaning our local hospice has now secured over £574,000 in 2025 alone! These funds will allow Willen Hospice to upgrade its spaces, introduce digital infrastructure, and create more welcoming environments for patients and their loved ones – ensuring care is delivered in comfortable, dignified surroundings.
I’m immensely proud that Willen Hospice, a vital provider of specialist palliative care to our community, is being supported by the largest ever government investment in hospices in England. This is part of Labour’s bold commitment to modernise facilities, enhance patient comfort, and improve sustainability so that more families can access dignified care when they need it most.
Willen Hospice has supported hundreds of families across Milton Keynes through inpatient, day‑hospice, home‑care, and bereavement services for decades, and is an essential part of Milton Keynes Central. I will continue fighting to ensure our end‑of‑life services not only receive this essential funding, but also achieve long‑term sustainability.
