Nobody in our city should be worrying about how they are heating their home – especially at a time when energy costs are still putting pressure on household budgets. That’s why I want to remind everyone in Milton Keynes that the Warm Homes Discount is still available, but the deadline to check your eligibility or apply is this Friday.
This year the scheme has been expanded under the Labour Government, meaning even more families can access this vital support. More than 6 million homes across the country are now entitled to receive a one-off £150 discount to help with the cost of heating their homes, giving essential support with the cost of living.
For most households on means-tested benefits the discount will be applied automatically to your energy bill this winter – making the process easier for everyone. But for a small number of people who have not received a letter telling them they will receive the discount, there’s still time to act. If you think you are eligible but haven’t had the discount applied or received a letter, please call 08000309322 by Friday to make sure you receive the support you are entitled to.
